NOTE: When you establish a counseling relationship with a therapist, they are usually required to enter your information into the HIPAA data base. Often a wellness coach can help you work through things without being required to submit your information to HIPAA. Licensed counselors are often covered by health care insurance plans where wellness coaches are not, but wellness coaching can often qualify for cafeteria plan or HRA reimbursement. You will need to check with your employer in either case to see what is covered.
