Does child reference others (i.e., watch/monitor adult’s responses to behaviors or events)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Does child follow the adult’s shift in attention (i.e., “respond to joint attention”

 

 

 

Does child try to communicate? If initial attempt doesn’t work, does he/she try another way of communicating?

 

 

 

Does child participate actively in a social game (i.e., back-and-forth, predictable activity routine that doesn’t require language)
